Chill Behind The Scenes

People are vulnerable behind the scenes. The front of the camera and the back of it are two entirely different worlds. The front portrays beauty and calmness but the back is hot, angry, messy and what not!! We all know how beautiful everything looks on social media, RIGHT? But have you ever given a thought about what and who makes it look that perfect and beautiful? Let me share my learnings.

Recently I was offered an internship of a product stylist. Basically, my job was to handle the creative photography of the products. Products were Women Bags including Clutches and Potlis. I had to make sure that the photos turns out elegant and eye pleasing. This was a weekend based small internship.

On the first day of my internship, I didn’t knew what I was doing and what’s happening at all, it was so overwhelming. I came back home unsure about myself and my career choices, but I didn’t give up.

I then started doing some research, studied more and more about product styling, do’s & don’ts and what not. The next day I went to the studio well prepared, with all my props I knew I will be needing. That day I was well aware of what’s happening around me, and I was so active and well prepared, just knew what I had to do.

What I learned from this experience is always do your research and go well prepared with all your props, because props are everything. Choosing the right prop is also a task because it will either enhance your product 100times or will make it look extremely dull. I’ve also learned the importance of perfect lighting and how much it matter. Thanks to elements & principles of design, studying this particular subject made it so much easier for me to style these products beautifully while keeping all the design elements in mind.

Overall it was such an amazing learning experience for me, I have learned so much and most importantly I have learned what really happens behind the scenes. I look forward to more of such fun and creative experiences in the future…!!!
